How to Download Images
A. Download Individual Images
1. Screen-Resolution Renditions. All the images are available for download in screen-rendition resolution. These will be perfectly fine for screen viewing and zooming — regardless of screen size. They should also be fine for making small, high quality prints, up to about five or six inches on the longer side. The files are up to 2048 pixels on a side, with a file size of up to 3.9 MB. The median file size is 1.9 MB.
- To save an individual screen-resolution rendition, enter slideshow view, right-click on the image, and select "Save Image As". (Right-clicking on a thumbnail image will save only the thumbnail.)
2. Higher Resolution Renditions. About 75% of the images are also available in higher resolution. The higher resolution files can yield high quality prints of larger size — sometimes much larger. The higher-resolution renditions range between 2049 and 8325 pixels on a side, with a file size of up to 25 MB. The median file size is 3.5 MB.
To download any image at the highest available resolution, use one of these methods:
- In the group's thumbnail grid, control-click (Windows or Linux) or command-click (Mac) on the thumbnail image.*
- In the group's slideshow view, use the download button. It's in the Image/Share menu at the upper right.
B. Download All Images in a Single Zipped File
- Download all the images in screen-rendition resolution, plus all the documents: Zipped File, 814 MB
- Download all the images in highest available resolution, plus all the documents: Zipped File, 1.7 GB
* Depending on your browser and configuration, downloading from the thumbnail grid might open a new tab with its own slideshow. This happens in Firefox 48 and later, for instance. If this occurs, I recommend using the download button in slideshow view instead.
